Every experienced worship guitarist has a story about the Sunday when something broke at the worst moment. Here's how to never be caught unprepared.
1. Extra Set of Strings
Keep at least two spare sets. Strings break mid-set without warning. PGL Performance Series ships sealed in moisture-proof packaging — they stay fresh in your bag for months.
2. Your PGL Capo (with Tension Dialed In)
Don't borrow someone else's capo. Yours is set to your guitar. Keep it in the side pocket.
3. Two Quality Instrument Cables
Always bring a backup. Cables fail. PGL Nylon Braided cables resist the kinks and breaks that take out cheaper cables, but redundancy is non-negotiable.
4. 9V Battery (or Power Bank)
Even if you have a pedalboard power supply, keep a fresh 9V. For the PGL GP-HGD-01 and most pedals as emergency backup.
5. String Winder and Cutter
For emergency string changes. A winder makes it 10x faster.
6. Electronic Clip-On Tuner
Separate from your pedalboard tuner. Clip-ons work in any environment.
7. Picks (Multiple)
You will drop one during worship. Keep 5-10 in your bag.
8. Bridge Pin Puller
The curved tool on your PGL capo doubles as a bridge pin puller — one less thing to carry.
9. Phone with Set List
Backup to any paper or tablet display.
10. Capo Wax or Silicone Spray
Keeps the tension wheel operating smoothly.
11. Small Flashlight
For dark stages during setup.
12. Contact Sheet
Sound tech's number, worship leader's number, church emergency contact. When something fails, you need to reach the right person fast.
